Here are some dog-friendly Howl-a-day events in the Charlotte area. You can have fun and help homeless animals.
A Night to Remember: A North Meck Luminary Walk Saturday, December 9 in Freedom Park, 1900 East Blvd, Charlotte
Have you lost a loved one or cherished pet? Do you have a family member or animal friend you want to honor during the holidays? North Meck Animal Rescue’s Luminary Walk is a great way to memorialize or honor special people and animals in your life.
This dog-friendly event is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and admission is free. Luminary prices start at $10 each and you get a discount when you purchase 3 or more luminaries. Proceeds benefit the North Mecklenburg Animal Rescue, a non-profit, no kill animal rescue in Charlotte with a mission to end pet abandonment, abuse and neglect.
Luminaries will light the pathways throughout Freedom Park and you can keep yours after the event. Enjoy refreshments of hot cocoa and cookies.
Purchase a luminary for anyone who is special in your life (pet or person). Include their names and brief messages when you order so they can be written on the bag by North Meck Rescue volunteers. Order luminaries here or purchase a luminary the night of the event.
